The Manzanillo airport, serving the State of Colima and the State of Jalisco’s Costalegre region, offers a number of direct flights to and from some of the most important cities in both Mexico and the United States. Mexican and foreign travelers and temporary residents continuously flow in and out of the region. Several airlines serve Manzanillo’s international airport throughout the year, increasing the number of flights during the high season, from December to mid-May, including Alaskan Airlines, Continental Airlines, Sun Country Airlines, Mexicana, and Northwest Airlines.

As a well-established city with approximately 150,000 people, Manzanillo’s additional transportation amenities have greatly improved in the region, making it a destination people can easily flock to.

  • Plans are in effect to expand the port to handle ships too large to pass through the Panama Canal.
  • Over 100 cruise ships dock at Manzanillo every year including Carnival and Crystal Celebrity.
  • Rail and highway access allow traffic flow to the interior and other areas of Mexico.
  • Mexico Highway 200 connects Manzanillo and Puerto Vallarta.
  • The Central Corridor Railway connects Manzanillo directly to Canada.
